Meet some key members of our team:

Jackie Tedesco, President and Owner, has worked with Burns Personnel for more than 25 years. She was appointed to the position of President in 1994 and became the primary owner of the company in 1997.

Jackie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from St. John Fisher College and completed additional coursework in Electronic Engineering.  She is a Certified Placement Consultant and is the recipient of three national awards from various national staffing networks recognizing her as the #1 Placement Producer.  Jackie is also a past president of the Rochester Chapter of the National Association of Temporary Staffing Services.

Under Jackie’s leadership, Burns Personnel became the first Certified Service Supplier in the world to Eastman Kodak Company, and the company has been included on the annual Rochester’s Top 100 list nine times.

John Mazzacane, Executive Vice President, graduated from the Simon School of the University of Rochester with an MBA in Finance, Corporate Accounting and Marketing in 1992.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, with an emphasis on Probability and Statistics from Syracuse University.

Joining Burns Personnel in 1989, John’s roles have included management of the IT/Technical placement team, cost analysis/finance, and management of Burns Personnel’s IT systems, including overseeing the completion of the Year 2000 systems compliance project.

Previously, John worked four years at Weyerhaeuser in Industrial Engineering/Strategic Purchasing.

Melissa Day, Vice President, joined Burns Personnel in 1992 and has held the positions of Placement Supervisor, Placement Manager, and Area Manager.  She was promoted to Vice President in January 2000.  Melissa is an active member of the Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM), and serves on the board of directors of the New York Staffing Association (NYSA).

Prior to Burns Personnel, Melissa was the Regional Recruiting Manager for a leading staffing firm in Boston, MA, from 1985-1992.  She obtained her Bachelors degree from Syracuse University.

Jim Ellis, Area Manager, began his career with Burns Personnel in 1986 as a Placement Specialist in the direct hire division.  After moving to the temporary division four months later, he became a Placement Supervisor and, in 1992 was promoted to Placement Manager.  Presently, Jim is the Area Manager overseeing the placement activities of Burns Personnel’s Greece, NY office.  Jim is an active member of the New York Staffing Association (NYSA).

Prior to Burns Personnel, Jim was the Director of Admissions at Bryant and Stratton Business Institute in Rochester, NY.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Buffalo State College.

Tina Borg, Area Manager, joined the Burns Personnel team in 1999 as a Placement Manager in our Oakdale, MN office.Currently, Tina oversees two placement teams at our Minnesota location.

Prior to joining Burns Personnel, Tina worked for 7 years as a general manager for a manufacturing company.  Her responsibilities included purchasing, customer service, production scheduling, human resources, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and benefits administrator. 

Tina graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sales and Marketing. 

J.B. Howard, Technical Services Manager, joined Burns Personnel in 1992 as a Placement Supervisor in the Technical Services Division.  He was promoted to Manager of that division in 1996, and joined the Leadership Team in January 2001. In addition to recruitment, placement, and client service duties, J.B. also oversees corporate quality for Burns Personnel.

Previously, J.B. worked 5 years in technical sales with NCR/AT&T.He received his Bachelors degree from the University of Buffalo, where he majored in Business with a minor in Management Information Systems.

John Russo, Placement Manager, worked 3 years in staffing and human resources with Xerox Corporation and Sugar Creek Stores prior to coming to Burns Personnel in 1999.  He began his career here as a Placement Supervisor servicing Eastman Kodak Company, and was promoted to Placement Manager in 2000.

A graduate of Oswego State College, John received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management.

Lee Shannon, Placement Supervisor, joined Burns Personnel’s team servicing Eastman Kodak Company in 1999.  Her previous professional experience included working with The Bon Ton Stores as Human Resources /Operations Manager.

Majoring in Business Administration and Psychology, Lee earned her Bachelor of Science degree Summa Cum Laude from Oswego State College.
