Meet some key members of our team:
Jackie Tedesco, President and Owner, has worked with Burns Personnel for more than 30 years. She was appointed to the position of President in 1994 and became the primary owner of the company in 1997.
Jackie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from St. John Fisher College and completed additional coursework in Electronic Engineering. She is a Certified Placement Consultant and is the recipient of three national awards from various national staffing networks recognizing her as the #1 Placement Producer. Jackie is also a past president of the Rochester Chapter of the National Association of Temporary Staffing Services.
Under Jackie’s leadership, Burns Personnel became the first Certified Service Supplier in the world to Eastman Kodak Company, and the company has been included on the annual Rochester’s Top 100 list nine times.
Anne-Marie Strasenburgh, Director, brings 25 years of staffing industry experience to her role at Burns. Anne-Marie has created customized contingent staffing solutions for Fortune 500 clients and excels in consultative relationships at all levels. As an industry expert in technical and engineering recruiting and placement, Anne-Marie has placed hundreds of engineering professionals in the upstate NY market and brings a vast network of contacts from the engineering community.
Anne-Marie attended St. Lawrence University and is a graduate of Nazareth College of Rochester. She also completed an executive management program at the IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Jim Ellis, SPHR, Area Manager, began his career with Burns Personnel in 1986 in the direct hire division. He moved to the temporary division four months later as a Placement Supervisor and in 1992, was promoted to Placement Manager. Presently, Jim is Area Manager overseeing recruitment, placement and public relations. Prior to Burns Personnel, Jim was the Director of Admissions at Bryant and Stratton College in Rochester, NY. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Buffalo State College, and earned his Senior Professional in Human Resources certification in May, 2009. Jim is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
John Russo, Placement Manager, worked 3 years in staffing and human resources with Xerox Corporation and Sugar Creek Stores prior to coming to Burns Personnel in 1999. He began his career here as a Placement Supervisor servicing Eastman Kodak Company, and was promoted to Placement Manager in 2000.
A graduate of Oswego State College, John received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management.
Joy Zaccardo, Accounting/IT Manager, prior to joining Burns Personnel, Joy held several positions, each with increasing financial and managerial responsibilities, with General Electric in Schenectady, NY and Pittsfield, MA, and with Midwest Inc, in Fairport, NY. She brings a strong skill set in balance sheet accounting and financial reporting as well as managerial talent to our operations area. Originally from Schenectady, Joy is a magna cum laude graduate of the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY with a BS in Business Administration and a graduate of the well-regarded GE Financial Management Program.
